GASOLINE IN THE VEINS

Paco is a street kid, house of brothers and tomb of traitors. When the police catch him riding a stolen motorcycle, he knows his fate is sealed. Luis, one of the officers who arrests him, decides to help him by introducing him to his cousin Gil, the owner of a motocross track. Paco’s chance to become a racer is jeopardized when a thug threatens to hurt his girlfriend, Maribel, if he doesn’t help him pull off a heist. Can a street kid overcome his humble beginnings and cross the finish line into a new life?

Gasoline in the Veins is a realistic drama about courage, second chances and the search for freedom.

CURIOSITIES

  • The working method was as follows: Jordi Sierra i Fabra wrote a thirty-page script, I wrote the book following his outline and Jordi did the final revision.
  • A member of the Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan police) advised me on writing the police chase scene.
  • I visited a motocross track, Rocco’s Ranch in Montmeló, to learn about how a motocross track operates.
